Conditions of Entry

Please read these conditions in conjunction with the Competition Rules.

Definitions

For the purpose of this competition, a professional is one who earned more than AUD 10,000.00 from photography in the previous financial year (2016 – 2017).

Eligibility

The competition is open to all amateur photographers who currently reside in Western Australia. Professional photographers may not enter the competition.

Photographers who wish to enter the ‘Junior’ category of the competition must be 16 years or under on the 7 Aug 2017.

Damage Loss and Insurance

The organisers will take the greatest care with the entries the GEM Camera Club cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage that may occur. Insurance is the responsibility of the entrant.

Use of Images

Images accepted into the competition will be displayed in an exhibition at the ZigZag Cultural Centre Gallery.

The Shire of Kalamunda retains the right to use any image entered in the Life in Kalamunda section in the promotion of activities and events directly related to the Shire of Kalamunda, at their discretion, and on the Shire of Kalamunda’s website but no other website. The Shire of Kalamunda will always acknowledge the photographer in any usage. The Shire of Kalamunda further retains the right to have framed and to hang the Shire of Kalamunda Acquisition Prize within the boundaries of their premises.

The Forrestfield & High Wycombe Community Bank (Bendigo) retains the right to use the winning image of their Acquisition Prize in any way they deem appropriate.

The GEM Camera Club Inc. retains the right to use images entered in the competition in promotion of the club. GEM will always acknowledge the photographer’s name when using the image.

Data Storage and Security

By entering the competition, the entrant is accepting that images and limited personal information will be stored on our website.

The limited nature of personal information required when entering the competition is not considered to be a security risk, although every effort is made to keep the website secure. Any payment, and details of payment are handled via PayPal on a secure network connection. GEM Camera Club accepts no responsibility for any loss of images or personal information from our website or social media sites.

Sale of Images

Entrants may make their images available for sale during the exhibition. The images for sale and price should be indicated on the form when submitting images for the competition. Please be aware that the gallery will take a 30% commission on all works sold, so price your images accordingly. Entrants are responsible for printing, packaging and posting (where required) any of their images that sell .
